Suggestions for new series to translate?

I’m planning on picking up something after some time (a fortnight or so). If you have any suggestions, please leave them on the poll or the comments. If possible, please leave a comment showing why the series should be picked up. Also, I would prefer something cute or fluffy. My preference goes out for romance, slice-of-life and stuff with food. My only problem would be that I have an aversion to harem, ntr, R-19, and extreme violence.

I put up some options for now, and I will gladly receive any other suggestions you may have. Please leave those suggestions in the ‘other’ section of the poll or in the comments, and I will add those suggestions as an option.

Please bear in mind that what is selected here will not necessarily become the next series I translate; should I not like reading the suggested series, I may not choose to translate it.

Brief explanations about the options so far:

The Other World Dining Hall (WN):

NU link: http://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-other-world-dining-hall-wn/
Reason: Food.

Miniature Garden Chemister:

Raw link: http://ncode.syosetu.com/n4084cc/
NU link: N/A
Reason: The protagonist is cute and the series is light-hearted, quite a lot like ‘Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear’.

Tensei Shite Inaka de Slowlife wo Okuritai:

Raw link: http://ncode.syosetu.com/n5375cy/
NU link: http://www.novelupdates.com/series/tensei-shite-inaka-de-slowlife-wo-okuritai/
Reason: It’s a marvellous piece of slice-of-life comedy. Really good for getting laughs out of.

Edit:
Just remembered this series.

NU link: http://www.novelupdates.com/series/leisure-vrmmo-record/
Reason: It’s a light-hearted VRMMO novel that has lots of cute things and cooking.

Altruistic Saintess:

Raw link: http://ncode.syosetu.com/n3386db/
NU link: http://www.novelupdates.com/series/muyoku-no-seijo-wa-okane-ni-tokimeku/
Reason: Haven’t read all, but it looks like an interesting gender bender novel with plenty of misunderstandings so far.

Legend of the Continental Heroes
81mzw4nalil
Raw link: http://ncode.syosetu.com/n7105co/
NU link: http://www.novelupdates.com/series/legend-of-the-continental-heroes/
Reason: How did I miss out on this wonderful history and military novel! Though this is very unlike the series I have translated, my love for history wins out. This novel is quite similar to Alderamin. (Edit: Finished reading the raws for this series. Amazing military action and tactics, plus political intrigue. Also, it doesn’t grow as dark as Alderamin, maintaining a somewhat cheerful mood. Though, a small harem is formed later for the protagonist, but it’s not too bad. The love triangle exists for the sake of entertaining the readers at the cost of the protagonist’s sanity.)

Edit:
I got a suggestion called ‘Lizardly Me (トカゲなわたし)’, but I can’t find the raws (web novel version) online. Looks like the author took down the web novel chapters after the story was published as a light novel. I won’t be translating light novels as that’s akin to piracy, in my philosophy.

(Poll closed)

Of course, I would love to pick up everything, but unfortunately I do not have enough brains and bodies for that. I could probably pick up two more at most, as I already have two other series I am already translating.

  1. Please translate Tensei Shite! or TenShite for short? hahahaha. It looks so cuuuuteee!!!! And thank you for not thinking of picking up harem or other of those adult stuff. I also have a deep aversion of those.

  2. i believe in you kudara-san! so, i’m fine with whatever you choose.
that’s what i want to say, but, a completed series always sound better to me. because there’s no chance of it getting cancelled.
so in this time, i give my poll on other world dining hall. because i dont know whether miniature garden is completed or not. but if its, then to the miniature garden is my poll go.

  3. Tensei Shite Inaka de Slowlife wo Okuritai is what I’d to read the most as Chemister and Other world dining is something, hmm… how should I say this? The mood and gist of their story is somehow already established so I’d like something new and refreshing, but well, second I’d like the to read is Chemister ’cause of the title itself and the new world it may present to us 🙂

    — Thanks for your hard work~ ^^

  4. I want to read The Other World Dining Hall, but Slowlife would be more to your preference…. I think? Did you read them? There’re 10ish chapters translated. And I know nothing of this Miniature Garden Chemister.

Good luck on your next one.

      • I’d love to read them all too, but not possible haha. anyway from the look of things. I’m okay with anything you’ve list here. VR one is kind of confusing but that’s should be from translater. You’re the one who going to live with them for a long long time. so I’ll look foeward to what you choose.

        • Sorry to ask but why LN. Many translators translate LN. I don’t know but what do you mean by for the sake of authors. Can’t you consider translating one LN with WN you are translating.

        • My problem’s not money; in fact, I already have some volumes of some of the series you suggested. My problem is that it is akin to piracy to freely distribute translations of something that needs to be paid for. Thus, I will not translate light novels.

        • If possible I will like to buy with money to read but every series is not translated and those that are translated, the money is not less if I have to compare it my currency for only a volume not for whole series. So I hope you understand what I mean to say. If the series that I recommended if there are english translation available for them then don’t translate otherwise consider them. It will be piracy if the series is tranaslated in English (licensed) ad still translated but if not then how to read them and I don’t think you can call it piracy. I think you should not translate if series is licensed. I want to read Papa no Iukoto o kikinasai but can’t due to not translated or licensed and also don’t know japanese. Please if possible try to be flexible about not translating Ln. Consider translating the Ln and stop the translation if series is licensed so that it will not against what you believe about paying and piracy. Thanks. I hope you will agree with what I said. Will you consider translating papa no Iukoto o kikiasai! and other Ln’s one or two at a time.

        • It’s not the problem of being licensed or not. I understand that some series are not available in English (and thus not licensed in English), but it is my personal aversion to translating published novels, as doing so will prevent authors from receiving their rightful recompense.

If you really wish for me to translate light novels, please contact me with proof that you have bought the book and then I will be happy to translate it, sending the translated content to you privately.

        • Sorry but if the book is available in my country then I will gladly buy it or if my currency value more against dollar. But due to the book is in dollars and also due to comparison of it with my currency it is too expensive for me and it is also one volume. 1 dollar is equal to 108 rupees of my currency, so not possible right now. But thanks for your offer and I hope this offer is valid for longer or lifetime period because right now I can’t but when I will buy it,I will show you the proof and ask for the translation If the offer is valid. I hope I didn’t dissapoint you too much with my answer but this is true. After reading novels I want to buy some of them like strike the blood and some others but I will do it after I start working, so that I can afford my enjoyment stuff. Thanks for your response. I will do it some day or in few years. Thanks again.

  6. I am really glad that you hate those genres. ^^
    Here is a suggestion:
Scapegoat sister vs second prince. It has 10 chapters in all, but only 4 are translated, I am not sure if he had dropped it, but the last update was the fifth month of this year, it would be great if you could add this as a side project after Wolf Lord’s Lady. http://www.novelupdates.com/series/scapegoat-sister-vs-second-prince/
    translator: https://ichigoichiebanzai.wordpress.com/scapegoat-sister/scapegoat-about-the-novel/
Or, to translate its prequel “Armored Hero VS Ice Prince”, which, as far as I know, isn’t picked by anyone. I don’t know how many chapters there are.

I just found your website months ago but too engrossed in reading the novel so this is my first comment. 😛
Thank you for all wonderful translation! ^^
I love the fluffy story like hokuou that you translated ♡ and bittersweet story wolf lady.. :”)

From the series above, I voted for the otherworldy dining hall because of my love for food.. 😛

  8. Slow Life please!!! I was so sad when the translation was dropped… However I also think that Scapegoat Sister vs Second Prince is really good! Lol the main character in that story is so funny and I’m really interested in the relationship between her and the love interest.

  9. Not a suggestion to translate but reading.

    corseltel no ryuujitsushi manga

It is a story about dragon children and their nanny. Really cute and fluffy though the romance is very subtle and no food related story. 🙂

  10. Hi Kurdara! Um, maybe Villainess Brother Reincarnation, http://ncode.syosetu.com/n3963cn/? imperfectluck did a few chapters as teaser. It’s funny, but there might be a harem in the furture chapters… I’m not too sure(can’t understand the machine translations). But, it’s a reincarnation story with a male in an otome game, so its kinda unique? In that sense.

Many thanks for being awesome and translating. All the series you’ve mentioned look great! So, I guess it doean’t really matter in the long run what the final choice is (since a great novel will be translated anyway lol).

  11. Wow the Legend of the Continental Hero thing sounds interesting. Its been gaining a bit of momentum from the last time I checked back here but its too bad that it was brought up so late in the game with Tenshite and Miniature Garden way ahead. For my namesake I truly am fickled

  12. kudara-san, have you ever read evil-like duke household?
this is a funny one, based on how people misunderstanding cute and nice household because of its appearance.
each chapter is short, so its good for daily translation. as for now, its being translated by lightnovelsworld, but its translated on weekly basis.
so, maybe if you like this series, and choose this for your daily translation, you can talk to lightnovelsworld for take over.

  13. I’d suggest ID, but I think it is a different language. Also, most of the humor in the manga is I think exclusive to the manga so ya. Regardless, have you tried asking authors if it’s ok to translate their stuff at all? I have at least heard of cases where that was allowed and even supported, so if you find a LN you really, really like, it might be worth at least asking.

    Like

    • Yeah Id is in Korean, but I am Korean, so I can do that. However, it’s a published novel, not a web version, plus, and most importantly, I hate the novel as things get really weird and messed up from volume 5.

Also, I have tried asking authors, but so far I couldn’t send a message to one and I didn’t get replies from others.

      • Ah well, that’s fair enough, I’m just kinda hung up on it, cos I liked the manga so much 🙂 And yeah, that’s a shame too about the authors. Apart from anything else, I’d imagine the translation process itself would be helped out by being able to talk to the author. In any case, I’m just starting Hokuou Kizoku, a few chapters in I like it a lot, thank you for the translation.
